Phi Mu Alpha Valentine Singing Grams

Why give chocolates and cards this Valentine's Day if you could give the gift of music? The University of Nevada, Reno's Phi Mu Alpha fraternity are getting lovers in the mood one note at a time by doing singing Valentine Singing Grams.

"As a bunch of singing men, we thought it would be a good idea to do singing Valentine-grams," said Joshua Johnson, Treasurer at the fraternity.

Phi Mu Alpha has been signing on Valentine's Day for over a dozen years. With the purchase of a gram($15 on campus, $25 off campus) people also get a rose from Sparks Florist. The money raised helps local band programs throughout Washoe County.

“We donate our time to marching band programs, and we donate money to music programs in the Reno area," said Johnson.

Students on the University's campus also appreciate the music.

"I thought it was really good,” said Hannah K, a freshman at the school. “I liked it a lot."

"Oh yeah. It was pretty unexpected,” said Alessandro Rales. “It was cool.”

If you would like to get a Valentine Singing Grams for your lover, the fraternity still has some available time slots.
