In the early hours of Saturday morning, the Sparks Fire Department and Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue were called out to a brushfire.
The fire was located roughly a half a mile east of Sparks, off of Interstate 80 on the north side.
The blaze was up to 1 acre in size and was posing a threat to a nearby homeless encampment.
Crews got the fire fully extinguished at around 2:30 a.m.
Officials have ruled that the origin of the fire was accidental.
