They are also reporting a significant traffic backup due to the hours-long closure.

They are telling drivers to expect delays.

Caltrans is reporting that traffic is being turned around on westbound I-80 in Truckee due to multiple crashes over Donner Summit.

On social media, California Highway Patrol in Truckee said that a solo big rig crash near Kingvale was the cause for traffic being turned around.

They posted pictures of the crash and said that only minor injuries were suffered.

In a post on Facebook, Caltrans says there is no estimated time for them to reopen the westbound lanes.

Avoid the area and take alternate routes if possible.
