If you use bus routes you know it can be a frustrating experience.

The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) says it's trying to be more efficient, so they are introducing "FlexRIDE."

FlexRIDE is very similar to calling for an Uber or Lyft. You download the app, check to see if FlexRIDE is in your area, and then you call a van to pick you up.

Lauren Ball, RTC's Public Information Officer says, "The great thing about this service is that it's going to help us utilize public transit more effectively, so we are hoping that we can increase efficiency and get more people where they need to go even faster."

FlexRIDE will be coming to Sparks in November. If it works, they will look into expanding it to other areas.

One potential passenger says she can't wait.

"I go to the laundry mat every week over on Prater Way. If I can get someone to come to me and pick me up instead of taking a cab that would be amazing. Because I take cab everyday, every week to do laundry. So it would be a lot easier to use FlexRIDE," says Renae Luney a potential passenger.

You can call FlexRIDE to many different places, like your house, a hospital or doctor's office, and even schools.

Kaliope Lebier, another potential passenger says, "I would definitely use it, and I have family members who would definitely utilize it. That area is full of places that they would have appointments, and the buses are few and far between. So it would definitely help out."

The main difference between FlexRIDE and other rideshare apps is the price.

"One of the great things about this service is it costs the same as regular bus fair.  So $3 dollars for a day pass, $1.50 if you qualify for reduced fairs," says Ball.

"That's amazing, for low income that's going to help a lot," says Lebier.

Other than downloading the app you can book FlexRIDE online, or call RTC directly.
