The USL Championship and the USL Players Association announced on Friday that they have reached a formal agreement on a return to play for the 2020 season.
The two sides are now actively preparing for a July 11 restart to the 2020 Championship season and will resume negotiations on a historic first Collective Bargaining Agreement in the coming weeks.
On June 4th, the USL Championship Board of Governors voted in favor of returning to play for the 2020 season, with a provisional start date set for July 11.
“Reno 1868 FC is fully in support of the USL’s return-to-play plan,” said club president Eric Edelstein on June 4th. “Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our Northern Nevada community, and we will continue to follow the recommendations of local and state health authorities, as well as the USL and US Soccer Federation, who are utilizing the recommendations of the CDC.”
