Elko County Sheriff Deputies have arrested a man involved in a attempted robbery that occurred last Saturday. 

Kerby Patrick Deaton, 37 was arrested earlier today after he attempted to steal a go-cart from the Cal Ranch Store on Mountain City Highway. 

During the robbery attempt, Deaton threatened employees with a baseball bat who were trying to stop him from taking the go-kart.

As Sheriff Deputies found Deaton, he was in possession of a travel trailer which was stolen from a neighborhood in North Elko a short time after his botched robbery attempt.

Deaton is being booked into the Elko County Jail on a multitude of felony charges including Attempted Armed Robbery, two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of Stolen Property.
